Job summary

Otterbein SeniorLife is seeking an Activities Assistant to coordinate and supervise activities in Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing units. The role includes evenings and weekends with potential extra hours.

The position requires a High School Diploma, 1–2 years of experience preferred, and a caring, energetic personality. Duties include planning meaningful activities and transporting residents to outings, with emphasis on safety and engagement.

Overview

The Activities Assistant will assist in coordinating, supervising, and implementing activities in the Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing units. This is a full-time position with a schedule that includes evenings and weekends. Additional hours may be available as needed.

Responsibilities

• Implementing a broad activity program to meet resident needs.
• Planning, directing and carrying out a program which covers recreation and educational development.
• Transporting residents to and from outings.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma is required.
• Experience: One to two years’ activities assisting is preferred.
• Must possess a caring, compassionate, energetic personality and a desire to provide entertaining and stimulating activities to enhance the quality of life and holistic growth of residents.
• Must be detail oriented and have excellent literacy and writing, documentation, communications and interpersonal abilities.
• Must be willing to drive bus for resident outings.
