Generations Healthcare at Gramercy Court, STP Unit, is seeking an Activities Assistant to plan, coordinate and implement engaging, therapeutic activity programs for residents in behavioral health. The role includes development and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual activities aligned with each resident’s care plan.

Ideal candidates have behavioral healthcare experience preferred, are team players, and can use Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher.

The primary role of the Activities Assistant position is to plan, coordinate and implement engaging, entertaining, and therapeutic activity programs to meet the residents’ needs in the STP Unit for behavioral health. Development and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual programs, in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by supervisors.

Qualifications:

• BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE EXPERIENCE PREFERRED.
• Ability to demonstrate respect for and patience with retirement age residents, and desire to enhance residents’ lives.
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher, in addition to computer charting and graphics knowledge.
• Focused attention to detail and the ability to effectively handle multiple items/tasks, prioritize as required and adapt favorably to changing priorities.
• Effective ability to make appropriate judgments and decisions, in a timely manner and within the context of the situation at hand.
• Ability to effectively respond to emergency and/or crisis situations.
• Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter.
• Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal direction in English.
• Desire to be part of a dynamic team.
• This position requires the successful completion of a background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
