Job summary

Marlborough Hills Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is hiring a part-time Activities Assistant to join our creative and passionate recreation team in Marlborough, MA.

You will help plan, organize, develop, and direct daily events and programming for residents, including arts and crafts, performances, and other activities. Three days a week, 8a–4p, with weekly pay at $17.50 an hour.

Qualifications

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • We can train the right candidate!

Responsibilities

  • Help coordinate and run events and activities programming.
  • Build relationships with residents and learn about their interests to tailor programming to their desires.
  • Organize group and individual programming.
  • Generate ideas that will excite and encourage residents to participate in programming.
  • Encourage residents to take part in activities that will stimulate his/her potential, physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually.
  • Assist with and follow through on the establishment of resident care goals within the framework of the entire therapeutic team.
  • Document and report any unusual or significant findings.
  • Report all reportable events immediately.

Experience & Education:

Specific Requirements:
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
