Job summary

Country Meadows Retirement Communities is seeking an Activities Assistant to plan, create, and implement engaging experiences for residents at our West Shore location in Mechanicsburg, PA. The role starts at $17.50/hour and is full-time, with shifts including 9:30a-4:30p and 1p-8p on Wednesdays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience in group socialization or recreational programs preferred, but not required.
• Energetic, personable, positive, enthusiastic, creative and imaginative leadership style.
• Ability to communicate intentions to residents and co-workers; active listening skills.
• Strong motivational skills to positively influence resident participation.
• Valid driver’s license with no major violations in the past five years.
• Ability to perform the physical tasks required for this role.

• Drive residents' interest in a dynamic lifestyle to promote pride and purpose.
• Venture out with residents to theaters, museums, events, restaurants, and other activities.
• Collaborate with the Activities Coordinator and/or Associate in planning on- and offsite events.
• Foster a positive, enthusiastic environment to motivate resident engagement.

Activities Assistant Job Responsibilities:

Activities Assistant Job Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Prior experience in group socialization or recreational programs preferred, but not required.
• Leadership style that is energetic, personable, positive, enthusiastic, creative and imaginative.
• Ability to communicate intentions and directions to residents and co-workers. Be an active listener/empathetic.
• Strong motivational skills to positively influence resident participation.
• Valid driver's license with no major violations in the past five years.
• Ability to perform the physical tasks required in this type of role.
