Job summary

Majestic Care Fairfield is seeking an Activities Assistant to organize and participate in activity programming for residents. The role supports individual and group activities, fostering a welcoming community atmosphere and enhancing residents' daily experiences.

You will utilize diverse activity modalities, contribute to seasonal events, and help maintain activity records and calendars for families and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Activity Assistant Certification preferred.
• CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and participates in person-specific activity programming.
• Fosters a sense of community within the resident population.
• Leads and participates in individual and group activities.
• Utilizes models such as pet therapy, music therapy, or art therapy.
• Assists with decorating the facility and preparing for events.
• Develops and posts a monthly activity calendar.
• Participates in recreational programs for residents in rooms.
• Promotes volunteer efforts in the community.
• Mantains records of activities and attendance.

Position Overview:

The Activities Assistant organizes and participates in person-specific activity programming, including one-to-one interventions, small group facilitation, and large group presentations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize the environment to provide both comfort and stimulation to the resident population.
• Foster a sense of community within the community environment.
• Lead and participate in individual and group activities.
• Utilize a variety of models to achieve individualized programming such as pet therapy, music therapy, art therapy, etc.
• Assist with decorating the facility and preparing for special events and seasonal parties.
• Develop and post monthly calendar as a planning resource for residents and families.
• Participate in recreational programs for residents confined to their rooms.
• Promote volunteer efforts in the community.
• Maintain records of activities and attendance.
