Job summary

Trustwell Living, LLC is seeking an Activities Assistant to support and enhance the resident activity program. You will help plan, execute, and evaluate activities such as crafts, bingo, music, and social events, while promoting participation and resident satisfaction.

This on-site role requires engagement with elderly residents, reliable transportation ability, and a professional demeanor to ensure safety and well-being during activities and outings.

Qualifications

• Experience in activity programming or recreation preferred.
• Enjoys working with elderly residents and can interact effectively with them.
• Strong written and spoken English communication abilities.
• Maintains a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to assist residents with mobility and setup for activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with residents' activity program as directed by the Activities Director (crafts, bingo, music, discussions, outings).
• Keep residents informed of scheduled programs and help with required documentation.
• Help transport residents to activities and appointments as needed.
• Assist the Activity Director in creating new programs and trips based on residents' needs.
• Support other departments as part of the care team.
• Treat all residents with dignity and respect.

Position Summary

Responsible for assisting with the planning, execution, and evaluation of the activity program.

Reports To

ACTIVITY DIRECTOR

Position Responsibilities

• Assist with the residents' activity program as directed by the Activities Director, including assigned programs (crafts, bingo, discussion, music group, etc.). May assist in writing the monthly newsletter articles, purchasing approved activity supplies, etc.
• Keep residents informed of scheduled programs and help with required documentation. Promote participation and resident satisfaction.
• May be required to transport residents in a safe manner to activities and professional appointments within the guidelines established by the retirement community.
• Assist the Activity Director in creating new programs, trips, etc., according to the residents' needs and requests.
• Support other departments as part of the team.
• Treat all residents with dignity and respect.

Employment Requirements

• Activity programming/recreation training and/or related experience preferred.
• Must enjoy working with the elderly and all who associate with them. Must be able to interact with residents who are highly susceptible to common illnesses without exposing them to additional health risks.
• Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner and have the communication skills needed to interact with the residents.
• Always maintain a professional appearance and attitude and continually strive to improve resident satisfaction.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to assist residents on and off the bus, van, or car and may be required to move or arrange furniture for activities and/or climb, stoop, lift, bend, kneel, push, and reach to carry out activities of a minimum of 50 pounds.
• This position is subject to both inside and outside environment conditions. Activities occur inside and outside the facility.
• Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills, and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the mental abilities and aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.
