Join Our Team as an Activities Assistant

Hamilton Nursing Home - Hamilton, MI

Hamilton Nursing Home is currently seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Assistant to join our team at our skilled nursing facility in Hamilton, Michigan. Under the direction of the Director of Activities, this role plays a vital part in enriching the lives of our residents through engaging, purposeful programming.

Schedule :

Full-Time | Day Shift

Responsibilities :

The Activities Assistant helps ensure the emotional, social, and recreational well-being of our residents by :

  • Supporting residents with daily tasks such as letter writing, making phone calls, and registering to vote.
  • Assisting in documenting resident participation and progress in activities.
  • Helping with daily operations such as delivering mail, escorting residents to activities, caring for plants and facility pets / fish, and preparing the monthly newsletter.
  • Making morning announcements over the PA system and supporting fundraising initiatives.
  • Carrying out activities that promote communication, entertainment, relaxation, creativity, and spiritual fulfillment, as outlined by the Director of Activities.
  • Distributing craft supplies and supervising residents during creative programs to encourage participation and maximize each individual's potential.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience working in long-term care or with the elderly or disabled is a plus.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
