Job summary

Kids for the Future in Carmel, Indiana is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the Life Enrichment Director by organizing and leading programs that promote residents' physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with day and evening shifts, including every other weekend.

Requirements include experience with geriatric populations in healthcare, high school diploma or GED; CNA license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Life Enrichment Director with ongoing programs designed for residents’ physical, mental and psychosocial well-being.
• Implement a plan of activities including group social activities, indoor/outdoor activities, and spiritual/creative programs.
• Coordinate day and evening activities across shifts, with every other weekend required.
• Ensure at least 30 minutes of staff time per resident per week for activities duties.

Description

The Activities Assistant will assist the Life Enrichment Director with ongoing programs consisting of activities designed to meet the interests and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident. Day and evening shifts, with every other weekend required.

Performance Standards:

• Implement a plan of activities appropriate to the needs of the residents of the facility that include: group social activities, indoor and outdoor activities, activities away from the facility, spiritual programs and attendance at houses of worship, and creative activities.
• Assist with a program provided on a daily basis, which will include days, evenings and weekends. At least thirty (30) minutes of staff time shall be provided per resident per week for activities duties.

Requirements

• Experience working with geriatric population in a health care setting (at least one year preferred.
• Completed High School Diploma or GED
• CNA license preferred
• Consent to and pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background check.'
