Job summary

Brookhaven Health Care Facility, part of The McGuire Group Health Care Facilities, seeks an Activities Aide to create engaging experiences for residents in East Patchogue, NY.

You will plan and lead recreational activities, encourage participation, and provide companionship and support to residents, helping foster a joyful, resident-centered environment. Prior experience in activities or senior care is preferred, with a focus on compassionate service and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in activities, recreation, senior care, or customer service preferred.
• Friendly, patient, and positive attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to assist with resident mobility, including pushing wheelchairs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and leading recreational activities, games, events, and outings
• Encourage resident participation in group and individual activities
• Escort residents to and from activities as needed
• Document resident participation and responses to activities
• Help with decorating, event setup, and themed activities
• Communicate resident preferences and needs with staff and families
• Provide companionship and emotional support to residents
