Job summary

Susquehanna Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Johnson City, NY seeks an Activities Aide to create engaging experiences for residents. Schedule is full-time, 40 hours/week, with occasional weekend hours. A valid driver’s license is required to support off-site activities.

You’ll plan and lead events, provide companionship, and document participation while collaborating with care teams. We offer PTO, health/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, and retirement savings options.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving history.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in activities, recreation, senior care, or customer service preferred.
• Friendly, patient and positive attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to assist with resident mobility, including pushing wheelchairs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and leading recreational activities, games, events, and outings
• Encourage resident participation in group and individual activities
• Escort residents to and from activities as needed
• Document resident participation and responses to activities
• Help with decorating, event setup, and themed activities
• Communicate resident preferences and needs with staff and families
• Provide companionship and emotional support to residents

Rate: $16/hour
Shift: Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm or 11:30 am - 8 pm, every other weekend required
