Join Our Caring Team as an Entry-Level Activities Aide!

Premier Genesee is a warm and welcoming skilled nursing facility located in the heart of Batavia, NY. We are dedicated to providing compassionate and high-quality care to our residents, and we believe that engaging and meaningful activities play a vital role in their well-being. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and creativeEntry-Level Activities Aide to join our dynamic Activities Department and help us enrich the lives of our residents.

As an Entry-Level Activities Aide, you will:

  • Assist the Activities Director in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of individual and group activities designed to meet the physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual needs of our residents.
  • Help facilitate activities such as arts and crafts, music programs, games, exercise classes, social events, outings (when appropriate), and discussions.
  • Provide one-on-one visits and activities for residents who may be unable to participate in group programs.
  • Assist residents with transportation to and from activities within the facility.
  • Prepare activity materials and ensure the activity areas are organized and safe.
  • Document resident participation and engagement in activities.
  • Observe and report any changes in residents' behavior or condition to the Activities Director and nursing staff.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure a holistic approach to resident care.
  • Adhere to all facility policies and procedures, including safety regulations.
  • Supervise residents who smoke to ensure their safety

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Genuine interest in working with the elderly and a compassionate attitude.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Basic computer skills are a plus.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects and assist residents as needed (with appropriate training and within physical limitations).
  • Must be reliable and punctual.
  • Preferred: Experience volunteering or working with seniors in a healthcare or recreational setting.
