Job Title: ActiveMQ Support Engineer (L2) / Apache Committer SME

Hands Infotech INC is seeking a full-time, remote ActiveMQ Support Engineer with expertise in operating systems and Apache Committer SME skills. The role involves troubleshooting ActiveMQ issues, providing technical support to customers, and ensuring high-quality customer service.

Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and resolve ActiveMQ issues, including configuration and performance tuning.
  • Provide direct source code support for critical (Severity 1) issues and customize or patch ActiveMQ as needed.
  • Validate solutions and support diagnostics for deep troubleshooting.
  • Analyze and resolve incidents within SLA, including Severity 1–3 issues.
  • Guide teams in broker recovery, testing, and workaround strategies.
  • Collaborate with Technical Accounts Managers to reproduce issues and validate fixes.
  • Maintain support portals and ticketing systems like JIRA.
  • Participate in system tuning and after-action reviews.
Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and technical support skills.
  • Excellent customer support and communication skills.
  • Experience with operating systems and Apache Committer SME background.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
Core Technical Skills:
  • Apache ActiveMQ, IBM MQ, Java MoM
  • Shell scripting, network protocols (TCP/IP, SSL, HTTP, JMS, AMQP)
  • Logging/monitoring tools (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Version control (Git), performance testing, load balancing
  • Nice-to-have: Apache Camel
Soft Skills:
  • Availability for 24x7 support
  • Analytical troubleshooting, documentation, stakeholder communication
