Job summary

Koelsch Communities is seeking an enthusiastic Active Living Director to design, plan, and deliver engaging activities for memory care residents at Lakeview. The role works closely with residents and families to tailor entertainment and events that enrich daily life.

You will lead group activities, coordinate with staff, and manage program resources while ensuring safety and inclusivity. A strong personality and organizational mindset are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must possess upbeat, positive, flexible, and enthusiastic personality.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Detail oriented and able to work well in a team.
• Must have a current and unencumbered driver's license.
• Must attend required in-services/workshops to further education of skills and community requirements.
• Must be drug free and submit to drug screening upon hire and routinely.
• Must pass a criminal background check upon hire and as requested by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct activities for residents with varying abilities and interests.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment.
• Involve all residents in activity programming.
• Conduct daily exercises at scheduled times.
• Provide personalized programs in crafts, recreation, and hobbies.
• Evaluate program content quarterly and discuss changes with the Executive Director.
• Plan and conduct special events to celebrate birthdays, holidays, and observances.
• Develop and maintain a resource file of instructors, entertainers, and community partners.
• Order and maintain department equipment and supplies.
• Participate in health fairs or marketing presentations as needed.
• Create and upkeep bio boards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Full-time opportunity! MON - FRI, 9AM - 5PM.

Earn between $26 and $28/hour, dependent on experience!

Who you are:

You enjoy entertaining. This role works closely with residents and families to assess interests and needs of the residents. You’ll get to design, plan, and provide entertainment, special events, and other activities which enrich the lives of residents!

What you'll do:

• Plan and conduct activities with a large group of varying abilities and interests, both physical and cognitive.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment.
• Involve all residents in some activity programming.
• Conduct daily exercises at recommended times.
• Work Individually with residents to provide personalized programs in crafts, recreation, and hobbies.
• Evaluate program content quarterly to determine areas where improvement can be made. Confer with Executive Director on areas of change.
• Plan and conduct special events to celebrate residents' birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and other special observances.
• Develop and maintain a resource file of instructors, entertainers, community liaisons, tours, cultural events, sporting events, etc.
• Order and maintain all department equipment and supplies.
• Participate in health fairs or marketing presentations upon request.
• Create and upkeep of bio boards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be drug free and submit to Urinary Analysis Drug screening upon hire and routinely.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check upon hire and as requested by state regulations.
• The employee shall be responsible for maintaining the integrity of Koelsch Communities.
