Merrill Gardens at Campbell is seeking an Active Living Assistant to foster a vibrant, active community life for residents in Campbell, CA. The role emphasizes strong resident service, program development, and teamwork to support MG CARES standards.

Ideal candidates will plan activities, engage residents and families, and coordinate events while maintaining safety and quality of care. Strong communication and a willingness to learn are valued.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and participate in social events/outings for a vibrant community life.
• Engage residents, families, and external community in activities and volunteer opportunities.
• Track activity participation and adjust events with the program director.
• Set up and clean up activities (furniture, tables, chairs).
• Acknowledge residents’ birthdays and anniversaries.
• Conduct community tours when necessary.
• Participate in training programs and manage supplies for activities.
• Drive and accompany residents to activities and appointments as needed.
• Assist with vehicle inspections as required.

Our Active Living Assistants are responsible for:

Provide a high level of customer service to residents and Team Members by achieving the standards as outlined in the MG CARES program.

Develop Activities:

• Assists with planning, coordinating and participating in a variety of social events/outings to provide a vibrant and active community life to residents.
• Engages residents, families and the external community in activities and volunteer opportunities that promote socialization, expand personal interests, increase physical activity, and continue education.
• Tracks resident activity participation and work with Assisted Living Program Director to adjust calendar events accordingly.
• Stays abreast of active aging and generational trends to enhance the community program; creates and shares relevant best practices with both community staff and Active Living Program Directors.
• Assists with developing community communications, such as activities calendars, to residents, families, and prospective residents.
• Transports and/or accompanies residents to and from outside activities, shopping trips, and appointments in community vehicles.
• Sets up and cleans up activities (e.g., moving furniture, set up of tables, chairs, etc.).
• Acknowledge residents’ special days (i.e., anniversaries and birthdays).

Marketing:

• Conduct tours of the community when necessary.

Administration:

• Participates and attends all in-service training and education programs as scheduled.
• Assists with ordering and managing supplies for all activities.
• Takes responsibility for vehicle inspection as needed.

OTHER DUTIES

• Other duties as assigned.

If you are someone with:

• High School diploma required; College Degree or equivalent preferred.
• One to two years related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Class B Drivers License with passenger endorsement.
• Prefer social activity involvement.
• Senior living experience preferred.

Actual pay rate within stated pay range is determined based on relevant factors in compliance with state and local wage laws. This range reflects what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 75 lbs), and assisting with resident care. Regular bending, reaching, and physical movement are required throughout the workday. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
