Job summary

Hy-Vee in Wisconsin is seeking a Courtesy Clerk to greet customers, bag purchases, stock shelves, and keep the store clean and welcoming. You’ll assist customers, help with bagging, and transport items to their vehicles while maintaining a high standard of service across all store areas.

This role emphasizes teamwork, active work, and flexible duties across departments. No formal education is required as on-the-job training is provided and adherence to store guidelines is expected.

Qualifications

• No education or experience requirements; we will provide all the training you need to succeed.
• Follow detailed written or verbal instructions and work through tasks with a few concrete variables.
• Perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
• Work effectively as part of a team to keep the store clean and customers happy.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and learning their names.
• Package customer purchases and assist customers in transporting them to their mode of transportation.
• Bring carts in from the parking lot and cart corrals throughout your shift.
• Clean registers, restrooms, break room, and backroom; sweep and mop floors as needed.
• Stock, face, and rotate merchandise; understand shelf tags and locate items in store.
• Pull product forward to maintain a full, organized appearance; check prices as needed.
• Maintain front end supplies including bags and receipt paper; help train new courtesy clerks.
• Deliver product to customers and assist in all departments as requested; follow wage and hour guidelines.
