BBF is a strategic, data‑driven plan developed through a year of community engagement and analysis aimed at improving enrollment and ensuring scholars attend newer school buildings that offer enhanced educational opportunities, including eighth‑grade algebra, expanded sports, extracurricular activities, college credits, and pathways to higher education and careers. The goal is to strengthen enrollment and academic excellence for all CMSD scholars.

Pre‑K‑12 Action Team Coach

The Pre‑K‑12 Action Team Coach (ATC) plays a pivotal role in driving school improvement. The ATC is school‑based and works closely with Principals and School Leadership Teams in his or her portfolio. The ATC is ultimately accountable for executing a program of job‑embedded, ongoing, customized professional development to improve educational outcomes, monitor progress, and adjust Academic Achievement Plans to meet student achievement goals.

Responsibilities
  • Use data to diagnose and intervene to improve educational outcomes, managing and motivating multiple teams.
  • Collaborate with Principals, School Leadership Teams, Academic Superintendents, CAO Deputy Chiefs to evaluate and frame work at each CMSD school.
  • Lead conversations and processes with principals, teachers, specialists, department chairs, literacy and math coaches, and others to analyze student achievement data, curriculum, lesson plans, and teaching strategies.
  • Define joint work of the school and its Action Team based on data.
  • Identify principal, teacher, and student needs; develop customized curriculum, teacher professional development, and leadership strategies.
  • Facilitate meetings between Action Team Barrier Breakers, Flexible Content Experts, and Solution Specialists to provide services and resources.
  • Mentor and serve as a general resource for principals and teachers by providing model lessons, coaching, and ongoing professional assistance.
  • Support new teachers in incorporating best practices into curriculum and classroom management.
  • Manage targeted curriculum development projects on behalf of Deputy Chiefs and Academic Superintendents.
  • Participate in periodic meetings, conferences, and workshops addressing urgent issues and sharing strategies for increasing student success.
  • Coordinate work across reporting and departmental lines to ensure stakeholders receive timely information about academic progress.
  • Research current academic issues, providing principals and teachers with up‑to‑date data, assessment tools, and instructional strategies to boost achievement.
  • Monitor, document, and evaluate the academic progress of each school in the portfolio.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • Willingness to advance CMSD’s transformation work.
  • Experience in a high‑stakes K‑12 context with state‑of‑the‑art professional development programs.
  • Proficiency with national and state assessment tools and curriculum alignment.
  • Demonstrated success in a results‑oriented environment with shifting priorities.
  • Strong classroom teaching experience (highly preferred).
  • Practical data management skills; ability to interpret assessment data and translate it into action plans.
  • Commitment to CMSD students and urgency to meet learning needs.
  • Optimism about change and a clear sense of contribution to transformation.
  • Strong computer skills, preferably PowerPoint and Excel.
Working Conditions / Physical Demands

The role involves regular standing, walking, sitting, hand use, and speaking. Occasional lifting up to 15 pounds. Expected traveling for training/meetings. Reasonable accommodations for disabilities are available. Standard office environment requirements apply.
