Job summary

Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • Advanced degree with 10 years DoD-related experience, including 5 years in DoW/DoD.
  • Bachelor's degree with 12 years of DoD experience, including 5 years in DoD.
  • 15+ years of directly related experience with proper certifications per PWS requirements, 8 years in DoD.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to AFLCMC Commander and senior leaders on critical legislative issues.
  • Assist in preparing Center position for Secretary of the Air Force and legislative community.
  • Maintain liaison with state and local government officials and Congressional members.
  • Draft replies to state/local agencies and Members of Congress.
  • Analyze Congressional activity and coordinate impact statements and briefings for leadership.
  • Coordinate Congressional visits and advise on appropriate briefings, tours, and meetings.
  • Interface with liaisons, commanders, protocol, Air Staff, and Congressional offices for visits.
  • Participate in conferences with elected officials' staff and community organizations.

Position Summary

Credence has an immediate need for an Action Officer (Congressional Liaison) at the senior level who will be primarily responsible AFLCMC/CC is headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (AFB), OH with units located at 74 geographic locations. There are over 28,000 personnel providing "cradle-to-grave" acquisition and product support for aircraft, engines, munitions, electronics and cyber systems to provide best value solutions. AFLCMC/CCX supports the Center leadership by working with the AFLCMC Mission Support and Execution Directorates to ensure successful mission accomplishment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below:
  • Provide unique, tailored, and direct support to the AFLCMC Commander and senior leaders on critical legislative issues affecting the Center
  • Support the Commander and Center staff on matters of Congressional affairs and assist in preparing and providing the Center position for the Secretary of the Air Force and the legislative community
  • Maintain continuing liaison with the staffs of state and local government officials and Congressional members
  • Provide support to requests for information and Congressional Inquiry activities; assist in drafting formal replies to state and local government agencies and members of Congress
  • Analyze Congressional activity through public law, the Congressional record, and other databases to identify potential impacts on AFLCMC, including NDAA approvals and funding actions; coordinate with AFLCMC Mission Support and Execution Directorates on impact statements, papers, or briefings to leadership
  • Assist with Congressional visits; analyze visit requirements to determine appropriate briefings, tours, meetings, and recommendations for office calls with AFLCMC senior leadership
  • Orchestrate all aspects of Congressional visits and ensure all necessary coordination is completed by interfacing with legislative liaisons, appropriate commanders, protocol, Air Staff contacts, and Congressional offices
  • Participate in Congressional visits by interfacing with visiting members and/or staff and making real-time adjustments to ensure advocacy of AFLCMC programs
  • Participate in conferences, surveys, meetings, or presentations with elected officials' staff and community organizations to communicate pertinent AFLCMC information
  • Perform duties of an Action Officer, including preparing briefings; developing, coordinating, and completing analysis on TMT suspense responses; and formulating recommended Courses of Action (COAs) for Center Command Staff
  • Respond to taskers rapidly with an all-encompassing approach by identifying problems, analyzing issues, identifying COAs, and making recommendations suitable for the General Officer/Flag Officer (GOFO) level
  • Coordinate responses to TMT tasks assigned to AFLCMC Mission Support and Execution Directorates, as assigned by the CAG Chief
  • Recommend task assignments to the Office of Primary Responsibility (OPR) and Office of Coordinating Responsibility (OCR); drive delivery ahead of suspense dates; consolidate responses; evaluate accuracy and completeness; perform quality control; obtain executive-level coordination; and submit deliverables on behalf of Center Command Staff
  • Assist AFLCMC senior leaders in quickly and accurately turning data into usable and actionable output and efficient, effective information communications, including researching, creating, assigning, tracking, and coordinating with higher headquarters or directorate-level offices
  • Provide support for the overall management of assigned programs and efforts and interact with lateral organizations or external agencies as required
  • Support Government requirements for internal and external briefings and reports by assisting with preparation, scheduling, coordination of materials, and review of correspondence
  • Produce letters, reports, spreadsheets, database reports, and graphs effectively and efficiently using standard USAF office automation software programs
  • Assist in updating and retrieving information in the AFLCMC MS SharePoint document library
  • Compile, format, and store directorate-level inputs to taskings to support development of Center responses
  • Utilize both NIPRNET and SIPRNET electronic mail to coordinate and compile responses and transmit approved responses to specified higher headquarters or Congressional inquiries

Requirements
  • Must have an active or current Secret clearance
  • Master's or Doctorate degree in a related field and ten (10) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five (5) years of which must be in the DoW/DoD
  • OR bachelor's degree in a related field and twelve (12) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five (5) years of which must be in the DoW/DoD
  • OR fifteen (15) years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, eight (8) years of which must be in the DoD
