Qualifications

• Current City of Louisville Police Corporal in good standing.
• Graduation from an accredited law enforcement training academy.
• Active Colorado P.O.S.T. Certification.
• Minimum of 3 years of POST Certified Law Enforcement Officer experience as a Police Corporal, in patrol or investigative function.
• Requires an Associate’s degree or 60 credit hours in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Business Administration, Management or Public Administration, or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise commissioned and non-sworn personnel and operational functions during an assigned shift.
• Oversee assignment of Officers, Corporals, Code Enforcement Officers; evaluate performance and develop personnel.
• Lead on-scene supervision and supervision of department members during police activities and investigations.
• Prepare case information, reports, and warrants; review reports written by staff.
• Mentor and develop department personnel; enforce department policies and procedures.
