Position Summary

This recruitment will be used to fill two part-time ACTG 317/318/319 Teaching Assistant positions for the College of Business at Oregon State University ( OSU ).


These are teaching assistant positions for all of ACTG 317/318/319 for the academic year. Successful candidates can expect to:

  • Assist in case, quiz, and exam grading
  • Provide tutoring and/or host office hours
  • Assist with exam proctoring
  • Successful Candidate will be expected to understand the course material, ability to be flexible, and have good listening skills with the ability to assist students in the learning of course materials.
The pay rate will be $16.05 per hour.

Position Duties

The successful candidates are expected to spend up to 10 hours a week except during exam weeks and possibly when working on case/project grading. There is no set percentage of time for this grading and canvas management. This will change on a weekly basis as needed.

  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
    • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
    • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
    • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
    • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
    • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services ( USCIS ). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services ( OIS ), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

Additional Required Qualifications

Applicants must have successfully completed ACTG317, ACTG318, and ACTG319 courses at Oregon State University with a B or better.

Preferred (Special) Qualifications

Working Conditions / Work Schedule

The successful candidates will work with students, tutoring and assisting with case/project details. The successful candidates can work around their class schedule but should be available to assist proctoring exams during specific weeks and grading projects cases on the term schedule.
