Job summary

Rimkus Consulting Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer / Vehicle Accident Reconstructionist to support operations in the Carolinas and South Georgia. The role focuses on forensic engineering and vehicular accident reconstruction, with ACTAR accreditation required and up-to-date professional credentials.

You will analyze incidents, prepare reports, and present findings to clients, while maintaining long-term client relationships and contributing to growth.

Qualifications

• ACTAR Accreditation required.
• 8+ years experience in VAR/Mechanical.
• BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• PE license preferred.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Perform forensic engineering and failure analysis within mechanical engineering scope.
• Reconstruct vehicular accidents using analysis, CAE tools, and test data.
• Prepare reports and present findings to clients; provide expert testimony when needed.
• Maintain and develop client relationships; document evidence and stay within budgets.
• Inspect sites, collect data, and perform 3D documentation and CAD sketches.
