Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health in Springfield, MO seeks an ACT Therapist to deliver community-based, recovery-oriented mental health services to adults with serious mental illness. You will work on an Assertive Community Treatment team in clients’ homes and communities, conducting assessments, creating individualized plans, and providing crisis intervention.

Qualifications

  • Requires a master’s degree and active licensure in state (LPC, LCSW, or LMFT).
  • Willingness to obtain licensure in additional states.
  • Experience with serious mental illness preferred.
  • Comfortable providing telehealth and in-person services.
  • Background checks required; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • First Aid and CPR certification within 3 months.
  • ACT model knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide community-based individual, family, and group therapy in homes and community settings.
  • Conduct intake screenings and comprehensive assessments within designated timeframes.
  • Diagnose mental health conditions based on clinical assessments.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in alignment with ACT standards.
  • Deliver crisis intervention and on-call support as part of ACT team rotation.
  • Participate in daily team meetings and clinical staffing; contribute to caseload decisions.
  • Document all services per regulatory and ACT program standards.
  • Assist clients with life skills development, including housing stability, employment, and social integration.
  • Coordinate care with psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, and other team members.
  • Support transitions to higher or lower levels of care as appropriate.
  • Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, families, referral sources, and community partners.
  • Provide clinical consultation and support to team members when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.
