Job summary

Terros Health in Tempe, AZ is seeking an ACT Employment Specialist to engage members with direct treatment, rehabilitation, and employment services in a community setting.

You will conduct vocational assessment, provide job development and placement, benefits counseling, and assist with individual service plans as part of a clinical team. This role requires a High School Diploma or GED with behavioral health experience; driving is required, with weekend and holiday coverage.

Qualifications

  • GED or high school diploma with 3 years behavioral health experience.
  • Associate’s degree in medical or behavioral health with 3 years behavioral health experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree (not in behavioral health) with 3 years behavioral health experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health, or Master’s degree in behavioral health.
  • A minimum of one year of vocational rehabilitation training or supervised experience as a Rehabilitation or Employment Specialist, or Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor.
  • Three years working as an employment specialist preferred.
  • Interpersonal skills that allow for professional relationships with co-workers, members, families, and community members.
  • Good communication skills, evidenced by a non-judgmental approach and active listening.
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license and minimum 4 years driving experience.
  • Valid Arizona Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance card or ability to apply within 7 working days.
  • Must pass a 25 wpm typing test.

  • Works as a team member of a clinical team to assess member needs and wants, participates in the development of individual service plans, acts as a client advocate, and liaisons with families and community agencies.
  • Facilitates educational and supportive activities including orientation into the work environment, the effect of work and meaningful community activities on benefits programs, job seeking skills, benefits counseling, job clubs, and employment support groups.
  • Serves as the team’s specialist for employment services by collaborating with other team members in assessing and delivering employment skills training as specified in the individual service plan.
  • Provides on‑call crisis intervention services, including weekend and holiday coverage.

Position: ACT Employment Specialist
Location: 1642 S Priest Dr Bldg 6 suite 101, Tempe, AZ 85281
Type: Full Time (40 hours/week)
Shift: Day Shift, 7 days/week with weekend and holiday coverage
Travel: Up to 80%
Education: High School Diploma/GED (minimum 3 years behavioral health experience) with options for associate, bachelor, or master’s degrees in behavioral health or related fields
Salary: $19.12 - $22.87/hour plus $3/hour ACT Differential, Additional Language Differential Pay Available

  • Basic understanding of the DSM‑V.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, electronic medical record, NextGen preferred.
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license, 21 years of age, minimum 4 years driving experience, and meeting Terros Health’s driving policy.
  • Valid Arizona Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance card or ability to apply within 7 working days of employment start.
  • Must pass a 25 wpm typing test.
