Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is seeking an enthusiastic Acro Dance Instructor to teach dancers of varying ages and skill levels. The role combines dance technique with acrobatic skills such as flexibility, strength, balance, tumbling, and basic partnering, in a safe and engaging environment.

Candidates should have experience teaching acro, gymnastics, tumbling, or dance and be comfortable adapting instruction to meet individual student needs.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age with high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1-year prior teaching or instructional experience.
• Training and qualifications in the specialized instruction area.
• Demonstrate ability to develop and teach skills.
• Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs.
• Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and leads specific activities, routines and/or games for all participants.
• Leads with enthusiasm and positive motivation in program.
• Organizes and maintains program records including attendance records, rosters, etc.
• Manages all equipment.
• Maintains a clean and risk-free environment.
• Communicates effectively and timely with program participants and parents.
• Ensures all children are picked up by a parent.
• Promotes other YMCA programs by handing out brochures or referrals.
• Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and SOPs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
