Job Description

APEX Defense is seeking an experienced Acquisition Analyst to provide acquisition and program management support to the Advanced Fires Project Office (AFPO), supporting the Mid-Range Capability (MRC) and Common Autonomous Multi-Domain Launcher (CAML) Product Offices. The selected candidate willoperatewith a high degree of independence, leading complex acquisition efforts from planning through contract execution while supporting the delivery of critical Army modernization capabilities. This role requires close collaboration with Government stakeholders, contracting organizations, cross-functional teams, and industry partners to ensuretimely, compliant, and mission-focused acquisition outcomes.


This position offers the opportunity to directly support the acquisition and fielding of next-generation Army capabilities that strengthen national defense and provide critical operational advantages to the Warfighter.

KeyResponsibilities


  • The ideal candidate is a proactive, solutions-oriented acquisition professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, exercises sound judgment, communicates effectively with senior leaders, and takes ownership of complex acquisition challenges frominceptionthrough execution.

  • Provide acquisitionexpertiseand strategic recommendations to Program Managers, Assistant Program Managers, and senior Government leadership on acquisition planning, contracting strategies, and pre-award activities to support programobjectives, schedules, funding constraints, and overall execution.

  • Manage acquisition activities throughout the contract lifecycle, fromrequirementsdevelopment and acquisition planning through award, execution, and closeout.

  • Develop, coordinate, and staff acquisition documentation, including Contract Requirement Packages (CRPs), Acquisition Plans, Simplified Acquisition Management Plans (SAMPs), and other required acquisition artifacts.

  • Prepare andvalidateacquisition documentation, including Statements of Work (SOWs), Performance Work Statements (PWSs), Independent Government Estimates (IGEs), Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), and related contract documentation.

  • Conduct market research and support acquisition planning through development of Requests for Information (RFIs), Sources Sought Notices, and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

  • Monitor contract execution by tracking funding, contract modifications, ceiling, deliverables, schedules, and key milestones whileidentifyingand mitigating execution risks.

  • Ensure acquisition strategies and documentationcomply withthe FederalAcquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), DoW policies, and applicable organizational guidance.

  • Serve as the principal liaison among program offices, contracting organizations, Government stakeholders, and industry partners tofacilitatecommunication, resolve acquisition issues, and drive successful program execution.

  • Coordinate across functional teams to resolve acquisition issues, drive action items to completion, andmaintainprogram momentum.


Requirements

Qualifications


  • Active Secret security clearance or higher.

  • 10+years of experience supporting DoW acquisition programs, preferably within a Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE), Project Office, or Product Office.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Acquisition, Program Management, Engineering, orrelateddiscipline. Master's degree preferred.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of DoW acquisition policies, regulations, and lifecycle management processes.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive-level briefings, acquisition documentation, milestone decision packages, and other decision-support products.

  • Proven ability to support senior Government leadership, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), executive reviews, and other high-visibility acquisition activities.
