GTT is recruiting for an Acquisition Agent (ND) in Bismarck, ND. This contract role covers land acquisitions, negotiations, titles, and surveys, with permitting activities and project coordination across multiple locations.

The candidate will lead Right of Way projects, manage stakeholder communications, prepare reports, and ensure QA/QC adherence while complying with safety policies. Local travel required and per diem available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of Right of Way acquisition, relocation, and eminent domain experience (with Bachelor's Degree).
• Project management and/or real estate experience preferred.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Contract Details

• Position Type: Contract
• Contract Duration: 12 months
• Pay Rate: $36.00–$41.00 / Hour (USD)
• Per Diem: $150/day (available for candidates residing 70+ miles one way from the work location)
• Shift / Schedule: Days (1st Shift)
• Travel Requirements: At least 50% — local travel in North Dakota. Must have a valid driver's license.
• Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

The Staff Right of Way Specialist will lead various projects in the facilitation of land acquisitions, negotiations, property research, titles, and surveys. This includes leading permitting activities, construction coordination, and restoration on Right of Way projects in a variety of locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and establishing project objectives.
• Quality review Land and Right of Way related agreements, deeds, easements, leases, permits, and licenses.
• Quality review real property related project documents.
• Quality review Right of Way documents in the stakeholder management database.
• Quality review of stakeholder management database entries from Right of Way field agents.
• Present technical data to Right of Way project team and stakeholders.
• Prepare and submit permit applications for the project team.
• Prepare project status, technical, and acquisition reports for the project team and/or client management.
• Responsible for document preparation and control, meeting agendas, and other various project related activities.
• Manage subcontractor relationship including contracts, invoices, and change orders.
• Present in public involvement meetings.
• Perform project planning, budgeting, scheduling activities, and establishing critical project objectives within project parameters.
• Manage marketing efforts and identify key pursuits.
• Train and mentor staff.
• Responsible for overall QA/QC process adherence.
• Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and standards.

Required Skills

• Ability to read and understand title and appraisal reports and land surveys.

• Must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
• Valid driver's license required.

Preferred Skills

• SR/WA designation preferred.
• Other certification from the International Right of Way Association (IRWA) preferred.
• Real Estate Broker preferred.
• Sales License preferred.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field and minimum 4 years of Right of Way acquisition, relocation, and eminent domain experience; project management and/or real estate experience preferred — Required.
• OR Associates Degree in Business Administration or related field and minimum 6 years of Right of Way acquisition, relocation, and eminent domain experience; project management and/or real estate experience preferred — Required.
• OR High School Diploma and minimum 8 years of Right of Way acquisition, relocation, and eminent domain experience; project management and/or real estate experience preferred — Required.

Required Experience

• Minimum 4 years of Right of Way acquisition, relocation, and eminent domain experience (with Bachelor's Degree); or minimum 6 years (with Associate's Degree); or minimum 8 years (with High School Diploma).
• Project management and/or real estate experience preferred.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• At least 50% local travel within North Dakota required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must qualify for and maintain the company's vehicle driving privileges per the Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
• If not local, per diem is available for candidates residing 70+ miles one way from the work location at $150/day.
