Job summary

Intertek USA is seeking an Acoustical Technician to join the Building & Construction team in Lake Forest, CA. The role involves inspecting projects, calibrating equipment, maintaining acoustical chambers, and ensuring laboratory accreditation and QA.

The successful candidate will have a HS Diploma or GED (engineering-related degree preferred) and be able to travel 5–10% of the time. Proficiency with MS Office and good communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED; engineering-related degree preferred.
• Knowledge of test equipment, test methods, and acoustics specifications.
• Ability to communicate testing procedures and results clearly.
• Familiarity with industry codes and specifications.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and computer proficiency (MS Office, Adobe Pro).
• Ability to travel 5–10% of time.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs during an 8-hour day.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with applicable parameters.
• Oversee calibration, maintenance, service, and modifications of equipment and acoustical chambers.
• Acoustical laboratory accreditation.
• Acoustical laboratory quality assurance.
• Communicate technical information.
• Testing, as assigned.
• Review and document deviations from contract requirements.
• Communicate with clients on test preparation, procedures, progress, results, and reporting.
• Other duties as assigned.
