Job summary

Consertus seeks an Acoustics Technician to support the Chicago RSIP program. You will conduct windshield surveys, in-home property assessments, and eligibility acoustical tests, documenting findings and preparing reports for review.

You will schedule field measurements at O’Hare and Midway locations, analyze noise data, and verify that program noise reduction goals are met, working independently under the Manager of Acoustics and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Must have own car and insurance and ability to drive up to 300 miles per month.
• Ability to use a computer, the Internet, project scheduling, word processing, spreadsheet, and email software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct windshield surveys to evaluate acoustical characteristics of homes.
• Perform preliminary property surveys and group dwelling units with similar characteristics.
• Schedule and conduct eligibility acoustical tests and analyze data to determine Noise Level Reduction values.
• Prepare electronic reports for each home tested for review by the Manager of Acoustics.
• Assist with field research and improvements to acoustical test procedures.
