Unit: Solid Oncology / Hospitalist Medicine

Schedule: PRN, As needed basis

Responsibilities
  1. Provide direct clinical care for patient population according to established protocols and evidence-based standards in collaboration with the team.
  2. Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, documenting evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations in electronic medical records.
  3. Properly identify oneself to patients and families, clarifying the role of Physician Assistant as needed.
  4. Function within scope and refer to supervising physician when outside scope or as directed.
  5. Perform interventions specific to assigned patient population and written agreement.
  6. Participate in quality improvement processes to meet care and service standards.
  7. Demonstrate professionalism and serve as a role model to peers and the healthcare team.
  8. Perform approved therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based on patient’s clinical status.
  9. Address patient and family concerns, providing support and therapeutic relationships.
  10. Provide education, counseling, and instructions regarding diagnosis, treatments, medications, and preventive care.
  11. Support accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities.
  12. Participate in precepting PA students and healthcare learners.
  13. Identify patient/family needs for community resources and refer appropriately.
Credentials and Education
  • National Certification for Physician Assistant (Required)
  • Physician Assistant licensure (Required)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Preferred)
  • Master of Arts or Science (Required)
  • Experience: New graduates or < 2.5 years, reviewed and approved by Credentials Committee and Medical Board
