Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Atlanta, GA is seeking a dedicated Patient Transporter to move patients to and from procedure areas, supporting ACLS-enabled teams and maintaining safety during transport.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2 years of healthcare experience in cardiac or acute care settings, and current BCLS with ACLS within 2 weeks of employment. EMT certification within 180 days is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of related work experience in a health care facility with cardiac or acute care patient experience required.
• Experience in obtaining medical history, performing physical examination and providing emergency care during transport preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transporting patients to and from procedure areas including patients that must be accompanied by ACLS personnel.
• Preparing sterile trays, cleaning instruments/rooms, and assisting with daily lab efficiency.
• Providing direct and indirect cardiovascular clinical care during procedures and sedation when needed.

Responsibilities

Transporting patients to and from procedure areas including patients that must be accompanied by ACLS personnel. Performing the following tasks: hemostasing arterial/venous puncture sites, prepping patients, cleaning instruments/rooms, preparing sterile trays, working with materials and supplies. Assisting with the day-to-day activities necessary to increase the overall efficiency of the lab. Providing direct and indirect cardiovascular clinical care during established procedures and sedation for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• 2 years of related work experience in a health care facility with Cardiac or acute care patient experience Required and
• Experience in obtaining medical history, performing physical examination of patients and providing emergency care during transport Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• ACLS within 2 weeks of employment Required and
• EMT - Emergency Medical Tech Certification EMT National Registry within 180 Days Required or
• AEMT within 180 Days Required
• EMT-P within 180 Days Preferred
