Job summary

MercyOne in Des Moines, IA seeks a Part-time ACLS/PALS Instructor to provide instruction and guidance for ACLS and/or PALS courses. The role requires preparing classroom environments and ensuring supplies are ready for each class, while adhering to AHA teaching criteria.

The instructor must maintain current ACLS/PALS certifications (or obtain within 3 months) and be able to teach at least one class per month, with availability for annual mandatory skills training and occasional evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Certified ACLS and/or PALS provider.
• Current ACLS or PALS Instructor certifications or the ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to teach at a minimum of 1 class per month.
• Attend an annual, mandatory skills training/maintenance and sign-off session.

Employment Type: Part time Shift: Rotating Shift Description: The purpose of this position is to provide instruction for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Provides teaching and guidance to students taking ACLS and/or PALS courses.

• Follows teaching criteria outlined by the American Heart Association (AHA).


• Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Certified ACLS and or PALS provider.


• Current ACLS or PALS Instructor certifications or the ability to obtain with in 3 months of hire.


• Ability to teach at a minimum of 1 class per month.


• Ability to attend an annual, mandatory skills training/maintenance and sign-off session.


• Ability to work evenings and weekends.


• Previous teaching/training experience preferred.
