Job summary

Hattie Larlham is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for the Achieve Day Program in Mantua, OH. This full-time role runs 1st shift from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, supporting residents with day programs, center activities, and community outings.

Responsibilities include implementing IHP-based activities, documenting progress, and facilitating participation in community trips, with a focus on personal care and developmental growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old with Ohio driver’s license.
• CPR and First Aid Certification—training provided.
• Experience with people with disabilities preferred.
• Experience providing personal care (changing, bathing, dressing).

Responsibilities

• Determine habilitation, prevocational and vocational opportunities and implement them.
• Execute programming per Individual Habilitation Plan (IHP).
• Suggest programs/activities and document attendance and implementation.
• Assist with community trips and coordinated day-program activities.

Join our Achieve Day Program Team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP)!This position is Full-time, 1st shift 8am - 4:30pm at The Hattie Larlham Center for Children with Disabilities in Mantua.

Achieve Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) implement day programs and activities for residents living at the Hattie Larlham Center for Children with Disabilities. Activities include center-based experiences, community trips, and community volunteer activities.

Opening:

• Achieve Direct Support Professional (DSP)
• Location:Mantua, OH in northern Portage County, less than 10 minutes from the I-480 exit in Streetsboro.
• Schedule: 1st Shift, 8am - 4:30pm

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Must be at least 18 years old and have an Ohio Driver's License.
• CPR and First Aid Certification - free training provided!
• Experience working with people with disabilities is preferred.
• Must have experience providing personal care which includes changing, bathing, and dressing.

Duties:

• Responsible for making decisions regarding types of habilitations, prevocational and vocational opportunities and with community service projects, that are developmentally appropriate and accommodating to each person served, then implementing these opportunities.
• Implement programming as indicated in individuals' Individual Habilitation Plan (IHP).
• Provide suggestions for programs and activities for individuals with disabilities. Document attendance and implementation of programs run in day program.
• Assist individuals' in participating in community trips. Conduct vocational and habilitative activities as part of a coordinated day program and on the units.
