Job summary

The UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Heart Institute is seeking a physician leader to direct the Adult Congenital Heart Disease program, expanding care across the lifespan with an integrated model alongside pediatric and adult cardiovascular services.

The successful candidate will provide strategic, clinical, academic, and operational leadership, teach and mentor fellows and trainees, and advance research and quality initiatives within a nationally recognized program.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Cardiology or Adult Cardiovascular Disease.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Adult Congenital Heart Disease.
• Demonstrated clinical expertise in the management of adults with congenital heart disease.
• Educational/academic and leadership accomplishments consistent with appointment at Assistant/Associate/Professor level.
• Strong commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic growth, vision, and development of the ACHD program.
• Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for adolescents and adults with congenital heart disease.
• Partner with pediatric and adult cardiovascular specialists to advance an integrated lifelong care model.
• Support and maintain ACHD accreditation while driving quality, safety, and clinical excellence initiatives.
• Expand regional outreach services and strengthen referral relationships across the tri-state region.
• Foster clinical, educational, and research collaborations across the Heart Institute and UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute.
• Teach and mentor ACHD fellows, pediatric and adult cardiology trainees, APPs, residents, and medical students.
• Advance clinical research, quality improvement, and scholarly activity within the Heart Institute.
• Collaborate with physician and executive leadership on service line development, strategic planning, and program growth opportunities.
