Job summary

Smith Bros Tool is seeking a skilled machinist to set up, adjust, and operate manual and CNC machine tools in a busy Michigan shop, following blueprints and GD&T specifications. You will read 2D drawings, measure with calipers and micrometers, and work with mills, lathes, and grinders in a full-time, in-person role.

Qualifications

• Reading blueprints and GD&T
• Proficiency with micrometers and calipers
• Experience operating mills, lathes, grinders

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate manual and CNC machine tools including mills, lathes, grinders, saws, boring mills, and drill presses
• Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators) to check work throughout the process
• Proven experience operating manual mills, lathes, and grinders
• Ability to read and work from blueprints
