Job summary

Bollinger Mississippi Shipbuilding, LLC is seeking an Accuracy Control Technician to perform in-process and final surveys of manufactured products to ensure compliance with quality standards, ABS and USCG requirements.

The role requires reading blueprints, ensuring adherence to procedures, and documenting survey records. Candidates should have a high school diploma and 5–10 years of shipyard experience; quality control certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Surveys parts, products and/or processes to insure conformance with standards, specifications or regulations.
  • Conducts final surveys to verify specified dimensions, strengths and other quality factors using measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
  • Completes in process and final survey records and reports.
  • Sets up surveys by ABS and U.S. Coast Guard based on rules and regulations.
  • Ensure that all of the survey procedures put in place by the company are followed during every production phase.
  • Create comprehensive documentation for accuracy issues and note the corrective actions that were taken.
  • Educate production team on accuracy control issues and work with departmental managers to improve overall company safety and product quality.
  • Create process checklists and coordinate accuracy inspections with departmental managers.

ACCURACY CONTROL TECHNICIAN

GENERAL FUNCTION

Performs in-process and final surveys of manufactured products to ensure compliance with quality standards, owner specifications, American Bureau of Shipbuilding (ABS) and/or United States Coast Guard (USCG) requirements.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Surveys parts, products and/or processes to insure conformance with standards, specifications or regulations.
  • Conducts final surveys to verify specified dimensions, strengths and other quality factors using measuring instruments and inspection equipment.

  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Familiar with regulatory bodies such as ABS and USCG.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Proven history of understanding industry safety standards and quality expectations.
  • Strong understanding of raw materials and the manufacturing industry.
  • Good math and technical skills.
  • Strong understanding of accuracy control standards and testing techniques.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & TRAINING

High School diploma with 5 - 10 years of broad shipyard experience in various craft areas required. Certification in quality control is preferred.
