International SOS seeks qualified individuals for the role of Accredited Financial Counselor for The Navy Fleet and Family Support Program (FFSP), which serves active duty members of the Navy, Marine Corps, Army, Air Force, their families, foreign military personnel in the area, reserves, and other eligible groups as directed by higher authorities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate, publicize, and deliver Personal Financial Management (PFM) classes/workshops on topics such as budgeting, credit, debt, insurance, savings, investments, and retirement.
  2. Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes for youths and teens on-base.
  3. Conduct initial and refresher Command Financial Specialist (CFS) training.
  4. Assist in developing General Military Training (GMT) on Personal Financial Management topics.
  5. Record all financial education and referral services in required systems.
  6. Provide individualized financial counseling to service members and families.
  7. Help service members develop extended absence financial plans.
  8. Create and distribute informational financial materials.
  9. Develop new curriculum for basic PFM education as needed.
  10. Assist with consumer information and complaints handling.
  11. Document counseling services per standards.
  12. Participate in emergency response exercises and execute assigned responsibilities.
  13. Ensure all related services are accurately entered and tracked in systems.
  14. Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in personal finance and certification as an Accredited Financial Counselor per DoD standards.
  • Ability to conduct management briefings and communicate recommendations effectively.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and autonomous work capability.

Work Experience

  • Experience providing personal and family financial management services.
  • Experience working with military or civilian social service agencies, or military family members.
  • Strong communication, assessment, data management, and advocacy skills.
  • Knowledge of state, federal, and local resources; sensitivity and empathy for diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of FFSMIS system is a plus; proficiency in Microsoft 365 preferred.

Additional Information
