Note: APA operates on a 37.5-hour work week with one-hour lunch breaks each day. Salaries are set based on experience, education, and previous relevant experience at APA.

The Accreditation Research Associate serves as the primary resource and contact for accredited programs seeking assistance with research database tasks necessary for maintaining accreditation. This position supports the Assistant Director for Research within the Office of Program Consultation and Accreditation (OPCA).

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related fields with 3-4 years of experience in quantitative analysis, research design, and database management.
  • Customer service experience is required; prior customer service roles are strongly preferred.
  • Experience with data entry and database management is preferred.
  • Experience in higher education or accreditation is highly desirable.

  • Microsoft PowerPoint: Basic/Intermediate
  • SPSS: Basic/Intermediate

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the main contact for over 1,270 accredited programs, assisting with the Annual Report Online and database queries, troubleshooting, and communication with the portal vendor.
  • Support the evaluation of accredited programs' compliance with public information disclosure requirements through visual verification activities.
  • Assist in research projects by collecting, analyzing data, and preparing reports using standard software tools.
  • Collaborate with operations and third-party vendors to maintain and enhance the accreditation database.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for users of the Accreditation Data Portal, including webinars and tutorials.
  • Support pre-meeting preparations and attend CoA meetings (3-4 weekends annually), recording notes and accreditation decisions.
  • Handle multiple tasks with attention to detail, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
