Job summary

BlackHawk Industrial is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to maximize cash flow while balancing customer and branch relationships. You will investigate account discrepancies, manage short pays and unapplied cash, and work with sales and customer service to resolve issues.

The role requires strong data entry, attention to detail, and solid communication skills. The successful candidate will support collection goals, promote safety culture, and operate within ISO processes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
• 2–4 years accounts receivable or general accounting experience preferred.
• Prophet 21 experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Promote culture of safety and adhere to ISO processes and procedures.
• Cultivate and sustain relationships with customers and internal teams.
• Form collection strategies to mitigate objections to timely payments.
• Confirm validity of account discrepancies by obtaining information from customers, sales and customer service.
• Maintain customer accounts by researching short pays, credit balances, and unapplied cash.
• Meet collection goals set by senior management and AR performance metrics.
• Collaborate with departments and branches to identify high risk accounts and develop action plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for maximizing cash flow and minimizing risk, while balancing customer and branch relationships for their assigned region.

• Collaborate with department and branch management to identify high risk accounts and develop an action plan.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Perform all work in accordance to ISO processes and procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma required
• Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration preferred
• 2 to 4 years accounts receivable or general accounting experience preferred
