This position can be worked remotely within the tri-state area. Available shifts include 7am-3:30pm, 7:30am-4pm, and 8am-4:30pm.

Job Summary:

  • Follow up on accounts receivable for designated payers to expedite payment and maximize reimbursement, in accordance with PBO guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate collection of invoices, using EPIC accounts receivable system.
  • Utilize electronic tools to understand and resolve rejected or unpaid claims.
  • Report rejection trends or issues affecting claims payment to supervisor.
  • Meet and exceed productivity measures set by leadership.
  • Document actions taken, payment info, next follow-up, and activity codes in EPIC.
  • Communicate professionally with departments, maintaining positive relationships.
  • Provide documentation to third-party payers promptly.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EPIC AR Follow-up features and related systems.
  • Comply with Penn Medicine policies and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma/GED required; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • 2+ years in a billing environment required.
  • Knowledge of ICD9/10 and CPT coding required.
  • Basic PC skills; familiarity with MS Word, Excel, Outlook preferred.
