Job description

As the Accounts Receivable Manager, you will manage day-to-day Accounts Receivable operations for ENGIE North America, including billing, collections, cash application, customer account maintenance, dispute resolution, intercompany billing, and support for close activities. You will help ensure invoices are accurate and submitted on time, payments are collected and applied timely, and open issues such as unapplied cash, master data concerns, disputed invoices, and overdue balances are escalated and resolved with the appropriate business partners. This role will also take ownership of intercompany billing and settlement activities across ENGIE North America entities, helping reduce work currently spread across multiple accounting teams. You will play a key role in centralizing and standardizing AR processes within the Shared Services / GBS model, including documenting processes, improving handoffs, and helping bring work into one coordinated team. This position will supervise approximately one to two team members and partner closely with Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Operations, Commercial teams, Legal, IT, Shared Services leadership, customers, and business unit partners.

You will:
  • Lead daily AR operations across invoicing, collections, cash application, reconciliations, dispute resolution, and close support
  • Own intercompany billing, internal settlements, related documentation, and issue escalation across legal entities
  • Support process centralization, standardization, documentation, service delivery, and continuous improvement within GBS
What You’ll Bring
  • A minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a closely related field; and seven (7) years of relevant experience in Accounts Receivable, billing, credit, collections, cash application, finance operations, account reconciliations, or related transactional finance work
  • Experience managing or supporting billing, collections, customer account activity, dispute resolution, cash application, and month-end, quarter-end, or year-end close requirements
  • Experience with intercompany billing, receivables, confirmations, settlements, reconciliations, supporting documentation, and follow-up on open balances or disputes
  • Experience working in a centralized finance, shared services, GBS, or multi-entity environment with standardized processes, service delivery expectations, and stakeholder coordination
  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy; a minimum of three days per week in the Houston office
  • Occasional travel may be required for trainings or business needs
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • Ability to supervise, coach, train, and develop transactional finance team members while assigning work, monitoring deadlines, and supporting service quality
  • Experience using SAP or another large ERP system, along with solid organization, follow-up, issue resolution, documentation, control, and audit support skills
  • A self-motivated approach with the ability to translate a vision into results, support process centralization, and partner across multiple business functions
