Job summary

Riverside Medical Clinic in Riverside, CA is seeking a dedicated Billing Specialist responsible for the accurate processing of fee-for-service claims and proactive account collections. The role includes reviewing tracer claims, initiating appeals, and communicating with insurers to resolve denials and ensure timely reimbursements.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of medical billing/collections experience and a solid knowledge of medical terminology.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Two years of medical billing/collections experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervisor as requested.
• Review, adjust, and/or mail out all assigned tracer claims.
• Initiate claim review and/or appeals as indicated on explanations of benefits.
• Review, adjust, and/or process all assigned correspondence.
• Analyze aging AR and contact insurers to verify status and reimbursements.
• Investigate denied claims to determine root cause and prepare appeals.
• Resubmit corrected claims with documentation and follow up.
• Communicate with insurance payers to resolve denials and obtain information for appeals.
