Job summary

Service Electric Company in Chattanooga, TN is seeking an AP Clerk to join our finance team. You will maintain the accounts payable process, review invoices, and ensure accurate and timely payment to vendors.

The ideal candidate has 3 years of accounting experience, a high school diploma (associate degree preferred), and strong organizational and communication skills, with proficiency in Windows software such as QuickBooks, SAP and MS Excel.

Qualifications

• 3 year’s experience in accounting.
• High School diploma or equivalent experience.
• Associate degree in accounting or finance preferred (not always required).
• Additional certification (e.g., Certified Accounts Payable Associate) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review invoices from vendors for accuracy and completeness.
• Match payments with invoices to ensure all outstanding balances are cleared accurately.
• Correspond with vendors regarding payment inquiries and discrepancies.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or outstanding balances.
• Generate and maintain accurate and organized AP records, documents and other financial reports as needed.
• Complete new vendor setup forms for AR
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
