Job summary

JB Poindexter & Co is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist in Houston, TX to oversee day-to-day AP cycles, process invoices, and coordinate with vendors and internal teams. Reports to the Global Accounts Payable Supervisor. Location options include Houston, Morgantown, and Reading, PA.

The role requires 3-5 years of AP experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with ERP systems such as JD Edwards and Intellichief. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in Accounts Payable mandatory.
• Experience with large ERP systems; JD Edwards and Intellichief experience a plus.
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, lookups).
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and on a team.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices in a timely manner through Intellichief and JD Edwards; ensure voucher match.
• Route invoices for coding and approval; verify amounts, quantities, descriptions.
• Process vendor payment cycles and batch posting; perform month-end close duties.
• Reconcile reports and manage AP aging; communicate with vendors as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve invoice discrepancies.
