Job summary

Destination Pet LLC is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to manage expenses across the company. You will analyze invoices, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate coding for multiple entities. The role reports to the Accounts Payable team and offers a structured path within a growing pet-care network.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in AP, strong Excel skills, and a collaborative mindset. A background in MS Office andvendor communications is essential for timely processing and month-end

Qualifications

• Associate degree in business or accounting preferred but not required.
• At least 3 years of experience in Accounts Payable.
• Proficient in Excel and other accounting software; NetSuite or Coupa a plus.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
• MS Office proficiency required to succeed in this role.
• Able to collaborate and communicate effectively within a team.
• Attention to detail with ability to research and resolve discrepancies.
• Experience handling multiple projects and vendor communications.

Responsibilities

• Check runs weekly in office; create FedEx labels and drop off checks.
• Review check requests with proper documentation and approvals.
• Manage AP mailbox on assigned days.
• Reconcile statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Communicate clearly with over 100 locations and Corporate staff.
• Code and process vendor invoices for multiple companies using GL knowledge.
• Identify and resolve issues with vendor invoices through research and follow-up.
• Manage vendor account reconciliations and maintain vendor documentation.
• Assist with month-end, audits, and special projects.
• Handle multiple email accounts efficiently.

The accounts payable specialist manages our expenses across the company. You will analyze invoices and expense reports, resolve accounting discrepancies, and charge expenses to accounts.

We are looking to add an Accounts Payable Specialist to our Pack!

REPORTS TO : Accounts PayableManager

PAY: $54,000 - $58,000 Depending on Experience

CORE RESPONSIBILITES:

• Check run will be once a week in office, which will require creating FedEx labels and dropping off special checks at FedEx.

• Review check requests for appropriate documentation and approval prior to processing for payment.

• Manage AP Mailbox on assigned days.

• Reconcile statements; research and correct discrepancies as needed.

• Clear, concise and professional communication with over 100 locations and Corporate Staff

• Uses an understanding of the General Ledger to review, code and process vendor invoices for multiple companies

• Identifies and resolves vendor invoices which will require the ability to research, communicate, and follow through.

• Manges vendor account reconciliations

• Maintains vendor maintenance and communications to ensure that vendor documentation is received

• Assist with month end responsibilities, audits, and other projects

• Ability to manage multiple email accounts

REQUIREMENTS:

Expertise & Experience:

• An associate degree or above in business or accounting is desired. Not required.

• At least 3 years of experience in Accounts Payable

• Must be highly proficient using Excel and other accounting software. A Plus to have NetSuite or Coupa experience.

• Strong organizational and time management skills for meeting deadlines.

• Proficiency in MS Office is needed to succeed in this position.

• Desire to be a part of a team that steps in and helps each other when needed to achieve common goals

• Great written and verbal communication skills, ability to listen, empathize and communicate effectively

• Adapts to change with a positive attitude, self-starter, takes direction well

• Exceptional troubleshooting skills, detail orientated
