Responsibilities

• Print, verify, and maintain accounts payable voucher reports and aging/open reports.
• Answer vendor and internal department inquiries regarding invoice and payment status.
• Process check runs in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assist with processing receiving documents based on purchase orders.
• Cross-train to provide backup for accounts receivable processing and customer account maintenance.
• Support store operations by answering phones, assisting with freight put-away, and helping customers at POS.
• Perform end-of-day closing procedures, including Saturdays when scheduled.

Position Summary

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for processing invoices, maintaining vendor records, supporting accounting functions, and assisting with general store operations. The ideal candidate will have previous accounts payable experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Receive and process vendor invoices by matching invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents
• Maintain open files for purchase orders
• Code invoices and obtain necessary approvals for scheduled payments and special check requests
• Print, verify, and maintain accounts payable voucher reports, aging/open reports, disbursement reports, and journals
• Answer phone calls from vendors and internal departments regarding invoice and payment status
• Process check runs in a timely and accurate manner
• Assist team members with processing receiving documents based on purchase orders
• Cross-train to provide backup support for accounts receivable processing and customer account maintenance
• Function as a member of the store team by answering phones, assisting with freight put-away, and helping customers at the point of sale
• Perform end-of-day closing procedures, including Saturdays as scheduled

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of accounts payable, bookkeeping, or related accounting experience
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable bookkeeping knowledge preferredProficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer applications

Compensation & Benefits
