Job summary

CECO Environmental is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to manage stock accuracy and material flow in a manufacturing setting. You will use Microsoft Dynamics 365 to track inventory, process work orders, and reconcile shortages, supporting lean initiatives across production lines.

The role requires 3–5 years of relevant experience, forklift certification, and strong organizational skills. A high school diploma is required, with OT as needed.

  • 3–5 years of inventory control or materials mgmt in manufacturing.
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 for inventory mgmt & work orders.
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge and cycle counting experience.
  • Forklift certification and safe operation knowledge.
  • Proficient with MS Office; excellent organizational skills.
  • Able to analyze discrepancies and resolve issues independently.
  • Team player with reliability and ability to work overtime if needed.

Responsibilities

Your Responsibilities Will Be
  • Perform routine inventory identification, verification, and cycle counting activities in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular monitoring, reconciliation, and transaction processing.
  • Enter, update, and maintain inventory data and transactions within Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
  • Perform inventory reconciliation activities daily or as required.
  • Monitor and track material issues and inventory movement from stockroom locations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient stockroom and inventory storage area.
  • Pull, stage, and kit materials and components for manufacturing work orders.
  • Audit and reconcile component shortages and overages associated with manufacturing jobs.
  • Process work orders, pick lists, and inventory transactions in support of manufacturing operations.
  • Adjust pick lists and inventory allocations as necessary to support production requirements.
  • Assist with work order completion and job closure activities.
  • Monitor inventory consumption at point-of-use locations and manufacturing cells.
  • Replenish inventory from stockroom locations to production areas using Kanban or other replenishment systems.
  • Return excess materials and components to inventory and ensure proper transaction processing.
  • Gather and report physical inventory count data to support cycle counting and inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing efforts related to inventory control and material flow.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and unobstructed work environment in compliance with company safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs and individual capabilities.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of inventory control, stockroom, warehouse, or materials management experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Required experience utilizing Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) for inventory management, transactions, work orders, and materials tracking.
  • Working knowledge of cycle counting methodologies, inventory control practices, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and maintain applicable certifications as required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Windows operating systems, email, and internet-based applications.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze inventory discrepancies and resolve issues effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and respectful workplace interactions.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience supporting manufacturing operations through material planning, inventory control, or stockroom management.
  • Mechanical or electrical aptitude.
  • Experience with Kanban systems and point-of-use inventory replenishment processes.
  • Experience participating in continuous improvement or lean manufacturing initiatives.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in warehouse aisles, loading areas, shop floors, and outdoor yard spaces.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, carts, and forklifts if certified.
  • Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures and noise levels.
  • Compliance with company attendance standards.
