Job summary

OneEnergy Renewables is seeking an Accounting Intern for Accounts Payable for Summer 2027. You'll support the Accounting & Finance team by processing vendor invoices, maintaining vendor records, and assisting with employee expense programs for development, construction, and operating projects.

You'll gain hands-on experience across the full AP lifecycle and exposure to renewable energy project accounting.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an associate or bachelor’s degree program in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong attention to detail with accuracy on large data sets.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication with stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook; able to learn new software.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity.
• Interest in sustainability or renewable energy preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review and process vendor invoices.
• Validate documentation, coding, approvals, and records.
• Assist with purchase requisitions and PO administration.
• Support weekly payment runs and prepare payment docs.
• Respond to inquiries regarding invoices, vendors, and payment status.
• Assist vendor onboarding including W-9s and banking data.
• Maintain vendor records and master data in systems.
• Support employee expense and corporate card administration.
• Monitor invoicing workflows and follow up with project managers.
• Assist with account reconciliations and month-end close.
• Participate in process improvements for efficiency and controls.
• Support annual reporting and audit requests.
• Learn renewable energy project cost structures and project accounting concepts.
