Job summary

GFMCO, LLC dba Goldens' Foundry & Machine Company is seeking a reliable Staff Accountant / Accounts Payable to join our Finance team. This salaried role focuses on AP and supports general accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will process vendor invoices, match with POs, maintain vendor records, assist with reconciliations, and help ensure accurate, timely financial data in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
• Understanding of GAAP.
• Ability to prepare payroll-related tax reports.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Review, code, enter, and process vendor invoices for payment per company procedures.
• Match invoices with purchase orders, receiving docs, and approvals.
• Identify and resolve pricing, quantity, and coding discrepancies with Purchasing/Receiving.
• Maintain accurate vendor records and assist with establishing new vendors.
• Prepare accounts payable payments according to schedules and procedures.
• Respond to vendor inquiries about invoices, payments, and balances.
• Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on outstanding items.
• Assist with general ledger activity, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Reconcile bank and payroll-related accounts and other assigned accounts.
• Assist with month-end close and ensure proper accounting periods.
• Assist with physical inventory and inventory accounting activities.
• Prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Gather docs for audits or reviews and support tax reporting.
