Job description

Cramer Fish Sciences (CFS) is seeking an ACCOUNTS PAYABLE COORDINATOR to join our Business Support Team in Portland, Oregon!

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance & Controller, the Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in all accounts payable processes. This role partners closely with teams across multiple states (OR, WA, CA, and ID) and contributes to the overall success of CFS's financial operations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments with accuracy, consistency, and timeliness
  • Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with policies and regulations
  • Support month-end close and reconciliation processes by meeting established deadlines
  • Proactively identify and resolve invoice and payment discrepancies in a professional manner
  • Assist with annual 1099 preparation and provide clear, complete documentation for audit support
  • Partner with staff and vendors, providing reliable follow-up and excellent service
  • Provide support with semi-monthly payroll processing as needed

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable or accounting support experience required; Associate degree preferred
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to follow through on tasks
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with accounting systems (ERP/AP software); experience with Acumatica preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction, demonstrating initiative and a strong work ethic
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This role will be primarily onsite at CFS' Corporate Portland, OR office
  • Requires prolonged periods working at a computer in a typical office setting
  • May occasionally involve bending, reaching, or lifting items up to 30 pounds

COMPENSATION:

Salary: $22 to $28/hour (dependent on experience)
