Job summary

Rampart Products, based in Houston, TX, is seeking an Accounts Payable & Billing Specialist. The role handles vendor invoices, customer billing, and basic journal entries, collaborating with the Financial Controller and CEO to support month-end activities.

Qualified candidates have 2 years in AP/Billing or related accounting, solid Excel skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a small business setting. QuickBooks experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable, Billing, or Accounting.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and the general ledger.
• Experience preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a small business environment.

Responsibilities

• Process and verify vendor invoices and weekly ACH/Wire payments.
• Prepare and send customer invoices.
• Apply customer payments and assist with collections as needed.
• Assist with monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Prepare basic journal entries, including recurring and adjusting entries under supervision.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Maintain organized accounting files and supporting documentation.
• Respond to vendor and customer inquiries professionally.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable & Billing Specialist to join our growing team.

This role is responsible for processing accounts payable, assisting with accounts receivable, and supporting the accounting function through basic journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end activities. This position works closely with the Financial Controller and the CEO.

WHAT THE DAY-TO-DAY LOOKS LIKE:
