Upstream Rehabilitation is seeking an Accounts Payable Associate to support timely processing of vendor invoices, payments, and related clerical tasks in a hybrid Birmingham, AL environment. You will ensure accuracy, coding, approvals, and compliance, while delivering responsive service to teammates and vendors; strong communication and time management are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in business management, accounting or similar program.
• At least 3 years of progressive experience in processing accounts payable.
• Experience in general accounting coding of invoices and check requests, reconciling POs, invoices and vendor statements.
• Intermediate MS Office skills, experience with MS Dynamics Accounting Software, Concur and Doc-Link helpful.
• Excellent written and oral communication; ability to work with diverse customers and vendors.
• Strong time management and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Process checks and ACH payments in a timely manner using a paperless AP system with coding and approvals.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to teammates, customers and vendors.
• Respond to emails and phone calls within 1–2 business days with accurate information.
• Maintain a positive, professional demeanor in all interactions.
• Communicate professionally regarding invoices, payment requests and account inquiries.
• Support other projects and duties as assigned.

The Role

Join the Upstream Rehabilitation team as an Accounts Payable Associate. In this role, you will support the efficient processing and maintenance of accounts payable transactions by performing a variety of accounting and clerical responsibilities. As a valued member of the team, you will help ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence while upholding Upstream Rehabilitation's mission, vision, and values.

What You'll Do

• Process checks and ACH payments in a timely manner using a paperless accounts payable system, including coding, entering, and scanning invoices and obtaining appropriate approvals for invoices, check requests and expense reports.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to teammates, customers and vendors.
• Respond to emails and phone calls within 1-2 business days, providing accurate and appropriate information.
• Maintain a positive and processional demeanor in all interactions.
• Communicate professionally with teammates, customers and vendors regarding invoices, payment requests and account inquiries.
• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Who You Are

• An associate's degree in business management, accounting or similar program.
• At least 3 years of progressive experience in processing accounts payable in a high-volume environment.
• Experience in general accounting coding of invoices and check requests, reconciling purchase orders, invoices, and vendor statements.
• Intermediate MS Office skills, experience with MS Dynamics Accounting Software,
• Concur, Doc-Link, also helpful.
• Excellent written as well as oral communication skills; ability to communicate with a diverse group of customers and vendors.
• Strong time management skills and ability to work independently.
